In this (part of a larger) interview with Bill Hybels, Bono speaks candidly about why he dislikes popular Christian music, the experience in Africa that gave birth to his work for the ill and poor there, and his understanding of Jesus as Son of God. Listen especially for his comments on the difference between “the way the world works” and how Christians are called to live.
great post.
Fantastic interview! Confirms some suspicions I had about the quality of his motives and excites me to hear him profess his insistence on a view of Christ as lunatic or saviour, nothing more or less–much like CS Lewis. His comments about the verity of contemporary Christian music and about “the way the world works” also echo my own feelings. Thanks for drawing attention to this clip.
I should also say that that choir is unbelievable.
